Our Second Son-in-Law - Another Answer to Prayer

Our youngest daughter always wanted to marry a man who  was a Christian, was taller than her  (Lisa is 5' 10 "), someone with a good personality, and a sense of humor. I believe she was also partial to dark hair and blue eyes. When she first met Jeff they were both attending Oral Roberts University. They both majored in telecommunication and had a class together. Lisa's assignment was to produce a video and Jeff was her lighting director. She planned to do a video on fashion of the 50's and 60's.  Lisa was very focused on her plans for the video but Jeff was not taking it as serious as she was. At this time she was not appreciating his humorous and quick witted personality. She did finish her video and received a good grade. Then she decided to invite him home for dinner.

Jeff is a very friendly, outgoing guy so we liked him immediately. His dad is a pastor in Indiana so he grew up with the same beliefs as we have. He lived in the dorms and one winter got the flu and Lisa was concerned about him. So I told her to bring him to our house and I would nurse him back to health.  His parents wrote me a letter of appreciation for taking care of their son.

As time went on we knew that he was the one for Lisa. To this day she calls him her soul mate. They graduated from Oral Roberts University and got married the same year. They have been married for twenty years.

Mr. & Mrs. Jeffery Michael Goforth

Jeff and Lisa have been blessed with three children, Zachary, age 13, Jonathan age 9, and Kate age 5. They are very compatible and like to do many of the same things. They are very family oriented and enjoy doing things with their children. They love to fish and golf as a family.

Jeff is also very passionate about his faith and the word of God. It was speaking and meditating on God's word that helped him overcome in several areas of his life. He eventually wanted to help others get free of things in their lives and did several profession quality CD projects. On the CD, he quotes scriptures, shares his testimony and has beautiful background music. Many testimonies have come in of people that have been ministered to by those CD. I am so grateful for my son-in-law Jeff. He is a wonderful man of God, husband, father, provider, and he doesn't tell mother-in-law jokes! What more could I ask for!!
