If Not Now Then When?
My husband had several suits and sport jackets, as well as, several pairs of dress slacks. The dress code in the ministry where we work has become more casual, so he usually only wears suits on Sunday and at funerals or weddings. After deciding a couple suits and dress slacks were enough, we chose to give the rest away.
When it came to my clothes, I had such a wide variety of things that I also was no longer wearing and decided to add them to the growing stack of clothes. Before long I had added purses and shoes to the stack. When I was done, we had over 100 pieces of nice clothing that we were able to bless others with!
It is wonderful to see fewer clothes on the racks; but more than anything, I am glad someone who has been wanting a nice suit or women's outfit would be able to be the recipients of those clothes.
I believe that just as I cleaned out clothes closets I also need to look at my entire life and see what else I need to deal with and not let procrastination have any place in my life. There are other projects, dreams, and visions that I have, and I want to have that same "if not now then when" attitude towards each of those things.
What it means to procrastinate:
- to postpone or delay needlessly.
- the act of procrastination is putting off or delaying or deferring an action to a later time.
- to put off intentionally the doing of something that should be done.
Would you like to join me in having an "if not now then when" campaign and begin to tackle those not-so-fun but necessary projects? In future blogs, I will tell you what else in my home, and life gets one of those stickers!
Until next time, remember "Most of Life is Everyday!"
