Kate, my Social Butterfly/Princess Granddaughter

Kate Elizabeth

Today is my granddaughter, Kate Elizabeth's, 6th birthday. I had four grandsons and then along came Kate. After shopping for the blue aisles for several years it was fun to begin to shop for the pink aisles. She is definitely all girl and pink is still her favorite color.

She has always been a happy little girl

Her first name, Kate, means innocent, godly example and her middle name, Elizabeth, means oath of God and consecrated.

She has a great personality, loves to talk about all kinds of things and is very animated. Her vocabulary is amazing for her age. She is also very social, like her mom. Kate really enjoys having play dates with her friends. She enjoys going to birthday parties and also is a great hostess at her own parties.

Being a typical little girl she loves her dolls and playing house. Barbies have also been added to her collection. Drawing is something else she loves to do.  When she was a toddler she would sometimes take her markers and draw on the walls. Her mom, Lisa, said she thought they had a "little Picasso in the family."

She will hear some information a time or two and can repeat it verbatim. She can quote all the presidents of the United States, the seven wonders of the world, the ten commandments, the Greek and Roman gods, and parts of a historical timeline. They had her learning Chinese last year and she was speaking short phrases and counting in Chinese.


Some of the other things she likes to do are posing for the camera, and go with us for manicures and pedicures.  She is always open to making a trip to Braums for ice cream. She also loves her tumbling and cheer-nastics class.

 Kate has two older brothers and Zachary is her protector but also gives her reality checks once in a while and reminds her that she is not a "real princess." Jonathan is the one that teases her and one day she was frustrated with him and said, "I shouldn't have to put up with this!"

I am so blessed to have such a sweet granddaughter that has brought some pink back into my life along with tea time, Barbies, tumbling, and talking just to hear ourselves talk! I know God has great things in store for this "little missy" and I am blessed to be her Mimi!
