Classical Education

Recently my daughter posted this picture on Facebook of the books my 16-year-old grandson Zachary read this last year in his Classical Conversations home school classes.

I remember when he was a shy little boy in elementary school and now he has gained so much confidence in his years of being homeschooled.

We joined their family for dinner last Sunday after church and he was able to converse on several subjects we discussed because of not only reading literature but also the Bible and many Christian books. He has strong core values and knows what he believes.

A few years ago we began to see a natural gift he has for photography and he is now taking photos for the 24/7 youth group at our church as well as other social events. Here are a few of his recent photos.

Many people feel that homeschooled children lack social skills but in different communities, these kids have an active social life. Recently as a group, they went to a drive-in movie, had a UNO tournament, swim party, and bowling. They have a Smash Brothers tournament coming up and other events. They have a year-end social with several home school communities at a nice venue for dancing and socializing. They also have a formal dinner night to practice their etiquette.

I am so pleased to see the wonderful education my grandchildren are receiving through this premier home school program. If you are looking for an alternative to public or private school, you may want to check this out.
