How to Soar Above the Storms of Life - Part 2

As the clouds draw closer and closer the eagle sits patiently until the first drops of rain begin to fall round about him. The eagle launches flight from his lofty home and locks his wings in an ascending position.

Using the strong winds that accompany the storm, he begins to spiral round and round, each time going higher and higher until at last he sees the sunlight beams around him and he looks down only to see the storm clouds pouring their rain on everyone but him.

How we can stay spiritually airborne when we have storms in our life.

(1) Enthusiasm "in God", but if we walk in mere enthusiasm we are nothing more than "spiritual grasshoppers" going up and down, but never learning how to soar.

(2) "God in me" an ongoing daily relationship with God which is reading the Bible and praying daily. This goes from just getting airborne, to having the power to keep aloft. #1 is experiences and #2  is Lordship with Jesus Christ.

Summary on how to overcome the storms of life:

The eagle, although fearless of the storm does not have the ability to stop it, only to rise above it.

There will be storms that confront the life of every Christian and non-Christian.

There will be hard times and tribulation but God's intent is not to put fear in you or to chase you off or even to destroy you. God's intent is to allow you to do what no other species can do - conquer the storm by putting it under your feet like the eagles do.

A storm should not be feared but rather a lesson to be learned, a foe to be conquered. Let the storms of life drive you to God.

You are like an eagle, not a grasshopper. You must be willing to cooperate with God, to put yourself in a takeoff position for God to fill you and send you soaring. To remain on your nest when the storm blows is disastrous! Your only hope is to launch out in faith against all insurmountable obstacles, lock your wings and let God do the rest.

I pray for each person who reads this blog that if you are facing a storm in your life you will be able to spiritually soar above it. I pray Isaiah 40:31 over you and the storm you are facing: "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint."
